La Noblesse
Exhibited at Embodied Evolution 2015
At the peak of the 18th century, the domineering French court, drunk in futility, faced a dark period of revolt. Blinded by the gates of the palace, the world was unknown to them. La Noblesse speaks to the pompous fall of aristocratic France. The dramatically structured garment expresses the leading monarchical fashion minds facing the fear of extinction. La Noblesse stands for the excessively decorative, for the expressive affront to modesty of the young French women of the court.
